This is of course is an impossible task. To pick 10 of the best places is tough and you always will leave some good places out, even in a below average pizza town like LA. Even harder is to rank one good pizza higher than another good pizza. However, it is necessary to at least have a list, in order or not, of the best pizza places in town.
So as of 2/13/10 here are the best pizzas in LA that I have visited, in no particular order. This will forever change as I discover better places. Click link for further info.
Michael's Pizzeria - Long Beach
Grimaldi's Pizzeria - El Segundo

I'm sure you all know one that should be on the list, and for every one that should be, I'm sure you know one that should be cut. Save it for your own blog. Right now theses are some good pizza joints in my opinion.
If there are ones you thought should be here try looking here: Best of the rest
Take care now, and enjoy your pizza.
Ok, seriously i'm just trolling but coming from the east coast this is like the best of my 9th grade pizza party pizza's all wrapped up in one. Where do you find these places? Some of them are priceless.

You should review king of new york pizza in Koreatown when you have a chance. I'd like to know what you think.
ReplyDeleteHave you tried Pizzarito in Marina Del Rey?
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy your blog and have found loads of great pizza in LA with your help. It has even motivated me to stray into some random pizzerias myself. May I humbly suggest King Cole Pizza in East LA. I was quite surprised by this place and the price is budget friendly.
ReplyDeleteI would also recommend Pizzarito in Marina del Rey; absolutely worth a visit.

ReplyDeleteVery Helpful page. We were in LA last month and wanted some quick service for pizza. We found the Good Pizza on the road and decided to give it a shot. It's a tiny pizza shop with 2 tables and about 6 chairs. Luckily, we were able to snag a table so we could enjoy our slices there. They have some different toppings. I was with some filipino girl friends. We enjoyed it. And planning to be back in LA by September. Now we have a list where to go.
ReplyDeleteA great pizza must have a great crust. A soggy crust will never do. Instead of piling the goodies on the uncooked dough, partially bake it first.
